  • Create and test emergency communications plans
  • Assemble or update emergency supplies
  • Conduct a drill to practice emergency response actions for local hazards
  • Participate in a preparedness training or class
  • Collect and safeguard critical documents
  • Document property and obtain appropriate insurance for relevant hazards
